The game ends when all the wolves are driven away, or when the number of wolves outnumber the sheep."

After one is ousted, nighttime takes over with all the sheep going to sleep, and the wolves free to decide who to eat, thus reducing the number of sheep by one (1). Sudden death ends the daytime phase with the two (2) most suspicious players being voted on by the remaining players as the one to be ousted from the flock. During this time each person selects someone whom they believe to be suspicious. In daytime, everyone chats together and tries to form alliances however they can to sleuth out and expose the wolves. There are three (3) phases to the game: daytime, sudden death, and nighttime. If you are a wolf, you are trying to help your fellow wolves make it through the game undetected, devouring sheep in the process. If you are a sheep, your job is to figure out who is a wolf, and vote them out out of the flock. In a 7-person game there is only one (1) wolf whereas a 15-player game begins with three (3) wolves. The exact number of wolves is dependent upon the number of people playing. The sheep do not know wolves from sheep, and yet the wolves know of each other. The multiplayer game server secretly assigns most of the group to be sheep, and only a few to be wolves. "A new game is formed with a flock of between 7 and 15 players.

And if the movie is executed as well as the game has been, it will likely be a hit at the box office." Mediocre and it's a shame because the film had a pretty ingenious idea and it's a shame that the filmmakers couldn't craft a more entertaining film in the long run and it ended up being a misfire due to a paper thin plot and poor execution of the material."Cry Wolf is (read:was) a multiplayer Web game created to promote a movie of the same name coming to theaters this September (2005). Cry Wolf is practically a rehash of previous ideas from other films, and you can clearly see where the cracks in the film lie. This is a poorly acted film to boot and the director clearly can't craft a memorable terror experience.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a film that is poorly thought out, one that doesn't deliver and one that is pretty forgettable. Unfortunately with sloppy direction, this is an unfocused picture that doesn't offer anything worthwhile for genre fans. This film could have been much better than what kit turned out to be. This film doesn't have anything effective in delivering chills and it is a scare free, predictable affair that is a perfect example of a mediocre horror film. Mildly amusing in the long run, Cry Wolf could have been a much better film if the script would have been better. This film lacks any suspenseful moments to really make it a fun and entertaining film that delivers top-notch scares. This is meant to be a Slasher film, and it borrows heavily from the 1980's hit April Fool's Day, which was superior. Acting wise, the actors here are poor and none of them have any screen presence. The film had a good premise, unfortunately there's nothing going for the film, and I found myself bored watching this. Interesting idea that never takes off due to a poor script.
